Proper nouns are bit outside the usual rules in French.

TBF, they are in British English, too.

Think of the trouble Yanks have with Leicester, etc

NICE for recognition. Until he comes back CROQUED? He's too good a player TOULOUSE. I'm DUNKIRK with puns.

BTW: It's "Pie-ette". With a T. Sometimes annoys me how even Bilic prounounces his name "Pie-ay". But at the moment I will forgive Bill Ick

I believe Deschamps thinks he's a luxury player if their "falling out" was anything to go by. He might not get much game time but could still get injured in training. ..

They should build the team around him.

Alas selfishly I think of West Ham and would rather have him tucked away under a blanket watching his home nation bitterly and thinking, ' I'll show them, and make them realise what they are missing in my next game for the hammers'.

Although I am very happy for him because it is a sign that you have made it big time when you get the call for the national team.

He pronounces the T.

It's natural to think you shouldn't, because that's the case with the vast majority of French usage, but proper nouns can go either way depending on region, and he is definitely, *definitely* Pie-ette.

I know it would normally be Pay-AY, but I heard somewhere that it's a Isle De Reunion thing where it's pronounced Pie-YET.
